The campaign “A Million Roses for the World: Filipinos at Prayer for the Nation” launched by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) encourages Filipinos to unite and pray the rosary in every intention for the provinces of the Philippines. Initiated by CBCP President and Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas, the CBCP calls for everyone to unite in praying for the country as we deal with the issues going on in our nation.
“Filipinos that pray together can heal the nation,” CBCP said in an online interview.
In the course of the campaign, Filipinos are called to pray the five mysteries of the rosary everyday from Sept. 20 to Dec. 23.
A date is assigned for each province in the country that will be included in the prayer intentions.
In a letter released by CBCP last Sept. 19, Archbishop Villegas said we must end the hate and division in our nation.
“We cannot remain this way. We must reverse the tide of hate and confusion and fill the air again with words of peace, truth and love. Let us resist the culture of terror and fear with the balm of prayer and mercy,” he said.
CBCP launched the campaign in cooperation with Live Christ Share Christ Movement, Family Rosary Crusade, Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines, Mother Butler Mission Guilds, Couples for Christ FFL and Aid to the Church in Need.
